Staff Members-2010/2011 - Professional Training

Shoener Environmental encourages and supports ongoing education and training for staff members to improve skills and keep up to date on the ever changing environmental and land use regulations. Notable new certifications that our staff obtained in 2010 are

  • Joe D'Onofrio, Environmental Permit Manager, and Daniel Garner, Civil Engineer, obtained certification as a Certified Professional in Erosion and Stormwater Control (CPESC).  Mr. D'Onofrio also completed Dirt and Gravel Road specification training pertaining to the Natural Gas Industry that was sponsored by Penn State. 
  • Rob Shoener, P.E., Engineering Manager, obtained his Professional Engineering License for the State of New York. Rob is also a licensed engineer in the States of California and Pennsylvania, a CPESC and a LEED accredited profesional.
  • Jason Tourscher, Environmental Scientist,completed Bog Turtle Certification training and is now a qualified US Fish and Wildlife Surveyor for conducting Phase 1 Surveys in the Hudson River Valley.
  • Dave Bonomo, Environmental Scientist, completed the Advanced Bat Study Techniques-Acoustic and Mist Net Monitoring Workshop hosted by Bat Conservation International, Inc. (BCI), Bat Conservation and Management, Inc.(BCM), and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services (USFWS)at the Patuxent Research Refuge.
  • Jaclyn Giles, Senior Environmental Scientist, completed the Certificate Program in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Penn State University. The certificate attests to significant achievements on her part by completing over 400 hours of activities related to GIS. In February and March 2011, Jackie Giles completed a Phase 1 Environmental Assessment, ASTM E1527-05 refresher course.
  •  Ed Vinton, Environmental Scientist completed his certification as a Certified Erosion, Sediment and Storm Water Inspector (CESSWI). This certification meets the Federal requirements including the US Environmental Protection Agency's National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) definition of "Qualified Personnel" and also meet the requirements of State and Local regulations that require qualified personnel.
